We met the client for this project when they visited us during an open studios event. The brief was to design and make a media unit for their snug, to accommodate the television and record player, with bookshelves either side. All materials were to be solid wood, no MDF or plywood and be a contemporary style.
The painted areas are made from poplar (aka tulipwood) with oak shelves and handle details. The cabinet doors and drawers feature finger pull handles with a swooping detail either side. There is also a secret removable panel in the back of the bookshelves to access electrics.
The paint is Farrow and Ball - Wine Dark.
